It's been a month since I attended my first mini yoga retreat - and my first time ever visiting Florida. Oh what a treat to walk bare footed in the white sand. To practice yoga on the beach. To swim in the ocean (yes, it was cold). To have someone cook for you and to break bread with new people.
The retreat was planed and hosted by my wonderful friend Kristin Walsh and we stayed in a beautiful house right on the beach of Panama City, FL.
We did yoga every day on the beach and some sort of activity - one of them was a boat trip to Shell island. A beautiful 7-mile long undeveloped barrier island running east to west between the Gulf of Mexico and the St. Andrew Bay. I loved this as it was a picture perfect spot (get it!!). We also did a sunset mini photo lecture at the beach by Brady Robinson (always awesome to learn new tricks from another wonderful photographer). Despite being February and out of season the weather was amazing and the water refreshing and I would love to go back to visit again.
Kristin and I did an impromptu short photo session on the beach the last day and Jack, who operated as the chef (amazing), driver, boat captain, and whom also happens to be Kristin's fiancé joined in for about 5 min of shooting. I absolutely love these two humans and I'm sad to see them leave Baltimore, but excited to see what the future holds for them on the West Coast. If you find yourself in Baltimore go see her at M. Power yoga Studio, Canton. She is a wonderful teacher, with a strong, challenging, creative flow... and her laugh is contagious.
